Live the Adventure’s Tamur River and Trek Dates: 30 Oct - 11 Nov 2014

The Tamur River, also known as ‘The Jewel in the East’ lives up to its name, featuring outstanding white water in a beautiful & unspoilt valley providing the most scenic of treks, with good beaches for our overnight camping stops and an abundance of wildlife. One of Nepal’s newest of rivers open for rafting and kayaking, the Tamur and its tributaries drain from the snows of Kanchenjunga, the 3rd highest peak in the world, creating the 6th largest river in Nepal.

Live the Adventure’s trip begins with a 3 day trek (days 3, 4 & 5) through Magalbhara, Gorja and Dobhan providing you with magnificent views of Mount Everest to the east, forested ridges, rice terraces, bamboo thickets, interspersed with lush villages, attractive campsites and lodges, immersing you in unspoilt cultural Nepal. The trails are long and difficult in places, a real expedition! Porters will carry personal gear bags and Sherpas will guide the way.

Following on from the 3 day trek, on day 6 we put in at Dobhan, starting our white water rafting or kayaking experience with challenging rapids and stunning scenery. A slightly easier section on day 7 as we travel through fishing villages and past wildlife including monkeys on the riverside along the way to our next beach camp.
